What happens when the manufacturer changes their website or gets acquired?
Nothing — because the record lives in your system, not theirs. Manufacturer-hosted tags break when a vendor retires a page or a company is bought. CPCON stores each asset's record in your own asset register and CMMS, so a scan always opens the data your team actually maintains.
Does it work on equipment from any manufacturer?
Yes. You don't wait for OEMs to add tags. We retrofit a rugged tag to any asset you already own — pumps, motors, panels, HVAC, tooling — regardless of brand, age or whether it ever shipped with a tag.
QR or NFC — and do we need special readers?
No special hardware. The QR code scans with any phone camera, and tags can also include an NFC chip for a tap-to-open option. Any technician with a phone can pull up the full record on the floor.
What shows up when you scan a tag?
Two things at once: the maintenance view (status, next PM due, last service, open work orders, manuals and history) and the asset-accounting view (book value, acquisition cost, depreciation, custodian, location and audit status). One scan, both truths.
Does it connect to our CMMS, SAP or fixed-asset register?
Yes. The tag points to a record tied to your systems of record, so maintenance data and capital/financial data stay in sync with what you already run.
Will the tags survive a harsh plant environment?
We spec industrial-grade tags — anodized metal or rugged laminates rated for heat, washdown, solvents and abrasion — and place them where they stay readable for the life of the asset.
